Come on, let’s be children again...
If I asked you, “Would you like to be a child again?” I am sure you would say: “Yes.”
But please, try to think like a child.
You are a child in the Middle East, in the middle of a war. You have lost your mother, your father, your brother, your sister, or someone else you loved. It does not matter who, because at that age you should be playing with your friends. But instead, weapons, bombs, and mines have taken over your life. That is why you do not laugh. You only cry. You are a child in the Middle East, in the middle of war.
Maybe you could have been in Europe or America, but you cannot choose your parents or the place where you are born. You are living in Africa, and you are a child. Wild animals may be near your home. You are hungry, you are poor, and you are still only a child. Maybe your parents went out to find food for you, but maybe they were killed by wild animals. You are a child; all you can do is wait. While other children your age are playing games, you are thinking: “How can I survive?”
Maybe you live somewhere else, but bad people exist everywhere. Maybe you will be raped by a cruel person. Maybe that person will kill you. And if they do not kill you, you may still want to die, because you have lost your childhood, your freedom, and your dreams. Some people may say that the person was a pedophile or sick, but that does not matter to you. It does not matter to humanity either, because humanity is already dead. You are breathing, but you are not truly living. So I want to ask again:
Do you want to be a child again?
If your answer is still “Yes,” then I hope your wish is not accepted, because being a child in this world is not easy.
